Two forms of electricity
Panels and battery cells produce or store direct current (DC): electrical polarity does not periodically reverse. The utility and typical household wiring use alternating current (AC): polarity alternates. An inverter makes usable AC from DC; a charger can convert AC back to DC.
Many appliances use DC internally through an adapter. That does not make a home's wiring a DC system. Both AC and DC can be dangerous; voltage, current, isolation and protection all matter.

Utility (AC)What is the service entrance?
It is the equipment and conductors bringing utility service into the premises, associated with the meter and main disconnect. The exact ownership boundary and arrangement must be confirmed with Meralco. Your main panel then distributes electricity to household circuits.
A solar connection must fit the approved service, conductors, protection and panel ratings. A bigger solar array or additional large loads can require an electrical plan, load assessment and utility-approved upgrades. A bigger breaker alone is not an upgrade.
What changes your kWh and price per kWh?
Power is how much can run at once; energy is how much runs over time. As an illustration, a 2 kW load operating for 5 hours consumes 10 kWh regardless of whether the service has spare capacity. Your total bill divided by billed kWh is an average effective rate, not necessarily the marginal rate solar avoids.
| Change | What it actually affects |
|---|---|
| Larger service entrance | Safe power capacity; may involve construction cost and a deposit. It does not automatically reduce your tariff. |
| More appliance operating hours | More kWh consumed, even if service capacity stays the same. |
| Solar used at the same time as loads | Less energy imported from the grid. |
| Approved tariff or service-class change | Can change bill structure. Confirm with the utility; single-phase versus three-phase alone is not a savings calculation. |
