Know the actual off-peak window

Meralco's published residential POP checklist includes average consumption of at least 500 kWh/month. Confirm current eligibility, rates and meter charges directly. POP concerns generation pricing; a advertised generation rate is not your all-in bill rate.

DaysOff-peak hours, Manila time
Monday to Saturday9 pm to 8 am
SundayMidnight to 6 pm; 8 pm to midnight

Who is it right for?

Potentially suitablePotentially unsuitable
Households able to move substantial consumption into off-peak periods.Homes with unavoidable peak-period loads or too little eligible consumption.
Schedules with late-night cooling or controllable charging.People who would sacrifice comfort or safe appliance use to meet a schedule.
Solar homes whose remaining imports are mainly off-peak, subject to utility approval.Anyone assuming that mostly evenings means off-peak: 6-9 pm is peak on Monday-Saturday.

Compare the whole bill

Use interval consumption and the current applicable peak/off-peak generation charges, then include the other bill components and enrollment costs. Solar changes your remaining grid-import pattern, so compare that pattern rather than your pre-solar bill alone.

Ask Meralco to confirm whether POP can be combined with the specific net-metering and battery arrangement you intend to use. Do not assume eligibility or credits carry over unchanged.

How to apply

Contact Meralco at customercare@meralco.com.ph, its official Messenger channel or a business center. Request the current residential POP application pack, agreement, rate schedule and a bill comparison. Confirm meter arrangements and charges before enrollment.

At review, the official residential page directed customers to these channels rather than a downloadable application PDF. We do not mirror unverified third-party copies.
