Three common architectures
Module-level conversion can reduce mismatch between independently controlled modules, but shade still removes available sunlight. A string design with well-chosen MPPT groupings or optimizers may also suit a complex roof. Compare the engineered layout and lifetime service plan, not the label alone.
| Architecture | Why consider it? | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Grid-tied string inverter | Central conversion can be cost-effective on a straightforward roof. | String voltage/current limits, shade and orientations. Normally shuts down during a grid outage. |
| Hybrid string inverter | Coordinates compatible PV and battery equipment. | Battery compatibility, backup output, transfer equipment, MPPT limits and black-start capability. The word hybrid alone does not guarantee backup. |
| Microinverters | Convert DC near the modules; offer more granular control and monitoring. | Per-input panel limits, AC branch capacity, rooftop service access and system-level compatibility. |
Where Atmoce fits
Atmoce offers microinverters, AC-coupled M-ELV storage, combiners, monitoring and backup accessories. A combiner gathers the designed AC branches and associated protection/control equipment; it is neither a panel nor extra generating capacity.
Ask for exact models and rated currents, branch counts, phase arrangements and expansion limits. SearchSolar's package labels are not a substitute for a manufacturer's electrical design. Adding another combiner must be checked against the whole installation, not only panel kWp.
Extra-low-voltage is a design feature, not zero risk
Atmoce describes an M-ELV battery architecture below 30 V DC in its product announcements. This refers to the specified battery design, not every conductor in the house. Its AC connection is still mains electricity. Panels, connectors and stored battery energy still require professional handling.
Keeping panel DC local can avoid the long, high-voltage DC strings used in some architectures. Correct grounding, cable routing, connectors, surge protection and shutdown provisions remain essential.
Atmoce water resistance and electrical safety
The Atmoce MI-series manual specifies IP67-rated microinverters. This is an enclosure ingress-protection rating under defined test conditions, not permission to submerge an installed system, pressure-wash connectors or operate flood-damaged equipment. Check the exact model and its installation manual; the rating does not automatically apply to every combiner, battery or connector.
Correct mounting, approved sealed connectors, cable routing, earthing and circuit protection remain essential. A low-voltage panel or battery architecture does not eliminate hazardous AC voltage, stored battery energy or all fire risk. Rapid shutdown reduces voltage on specified conductors; it does not make every component safe to touch.
What does the 25-year warranty cover?
Atmoce advertises a 25-year microinverter guarantee. Do not read this as a 25-year warranty on the entire installation. Coverage varies by product, model, market and activation terms; Atmoce's public battery claims also vary across materials.
Before signing, obtain the warranty document applicable in the Philippines for each supplied model. Check the claim handler, registration, exclusions, retained battery capacity or throughput, and whether labor, shipping and roof access are included. No battery warranty duration is assumed here without that document.
