Expected design outputs

Agree the deliverables in your contract. The following is a homeowner's checklist, not a claim that every document is a universal permit requirement. The engineer, utility and LGU determine the final submission package.

OutputWhat it should help you understand
Roof / panel layoutPanel locations and count, orientations, mounting, setbacks and maintenance access.
Single-line electrical diagramHow PV, inverters, breakers, meters, batteries and the grid connect.
Electrical plans / load scheduleCircuit capacities, cable routes, protection and service-entrance changes.
Structural assessment where neededRoof condition, loading, fixings and weather exposure.
Energy and financial estimateYield source, shade/loss assumptions, self-use, exports, tariffs and exclusions.
Equipment scheduleExact models, quantities, ratings, certifications and warranty documents.

What is the shutdown equipment near the service entrance?

Your design may locate an accessible, labeled PV shutdown initiator or disconnect near the service entrance/main disconnect. Its purpose and placement must follow the approved design and applicable local requirements; a US rule is not automatically a Philippine requirement.

A rapid-shutdown system reduces voltage on specified PV conductors when initiated. A main breaker or a solar AC isolator is not automatically a complete rapid-shutdown system. Panels can still generate DC in daylight, and batteries retain energy. Shutting down does not make every part safe to touch.

Testing and handover outputs

A render of panels on a roof is useful for discussion, but it is not a substitute for engineering drawings or commissioning records.

  • Final as-built drawings showing what was actually installed, including shutdown locations and backed-up circuits.
  • Commissioning and protection-test records, plus utility approvals where applicable.
  • Equipment serial numbers, product and workmanship warranties, and local claim contacts.
  • Owner access to monitoring, correct meter/sensor readings and an initial performance baseline.
  • A written shutdown/emergency guide and a maintenance schedule.
  • For backup: demonstrated transfer/isolation and the agreed essential-load limits.
